Our Committee

Committee membership for 2023/2024

Haemophilia Foundation Australian Capital Territory (HFACT) is a small, volunteer run organisation. HFACT does not have a permanent office or administrative employees. All administrative functions are provided by a volunteer committee of members, who have the following roles:

  • VACANT – HFACT was unsuccessful in filling the position of Secretary at the 2023 AGM so the Secretary’s duties are being undertaken by other committee members.  The position of Secretary remains open, so if you are interested please contact the President. See “Committee Roles” on the left hand menu for further information about the role.

Committee Roles

The committee consists of an executive and general members. The role of each executive officer holder is detailed below:

President

The President’s position is an executive role on the HFACT committee. The President is the public face of the Foundation. The position requires the individual to speak on behalf of the foundation and its members. The President is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting.

Vice-President

The Vice-President’s position is an executive role on the HFACT committee. The Vice-President acts as the President on occasions when the President is unable to undertake his or her duties. The Vice-President is trained in the duties of the President and may take on the President’s role if so inclined. The Vice-Presidents position is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting.

Secretary

The secretary’s position is an executive role on the HFACT committee. The role is central to the administration and operation of the committee. The position requires the ability to co-ordinate activities and distribute information to the appropriate individuals. The secretary’s position is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting.

Treasurer

The Treasurer’s position is an executive role on the committee of the HFACT. The Treasurer handles all matters associated with the finances of the foundation. The Treasurer’s position is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting.

HFA Delegate

The HFA Delegate position is an appointed position on the HFACT committee. The HFA Delegate represents HFACT on the HFA council. The position is appointed at an AGM and is held by that person for a period of at least two years. Usually the President is HFA Delegate.
