Certificates of Appreciation for Deitter and Narooma Public School
Thursday, 12 July 2018
Readers of the HFACT newsletter may recall that in 2017 Deitter Stever and his school, Narooma Public School, hosted a fundraising event called “Deitter’s Big Chop” in which Deitter had his long hair cut, raising over $6500 for HFACT.
Dietter and his family, including his parents Troy and Melissa, presented HFACT with the donation at the Canberra Hospital HTC on 27th April 2018. Present at the event were Ms Meegan Fitzharris MLA, the ACT Minister for Health, staff of the hospital and members of the local bleeding disorders community.
As part of her outreach work our counsellor Ms Kathryn Body visits the far south coast of NSW, visiting regional clients who use the services of the Canberra Hospital HTC.
On her most recent trip, Kathryn visited Narooma Public School. At a special school assembly Kathryn addressed the school, thanking the children, staff and school community for their support. Kathryn then presented Deitter and, on behalf of the school community, the school principal Mr Paul Sweeney with Certificates of Appreciation from HFACT.
