Congratulations to Dr Pati!
During the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP) Convocation Ceremony and Congress in May 2018, the recipients of the 2018 RACP Fellowship Awards and Prizes were announced.
The RACP Medal for Clinical Service in Rural and Remote Areas 2018 was presented to Dr Nalini Pati, one the consultant haematologists at Canberra Hospital Haematology / Oncology. Many HFACT members will know Dr Pati through the Canberra Hospital Haemophilia Treatment Centre. Dr Pati is also a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the ANU Medical School.
Since arriving in Canberra in 2013, Dr Pati, along with other HTC team members, has been providing outreach services and consultations in rural settings to support patients with bleeding disorders and other haematology patients. This has included trips to NSW districts surrounding the A.C.T from Boorowa in the north west down to the far south coast of NSW.
HFACT congratulates Dr Pati for the award of the RACP Medal, in recognition of his support for patients who do not have the same level of access to services as patients in Canberra.
