The HFACT Annual General Meeting was held on 24 October 2024 at the home of Ron & Jenny Lees and streamed via Zoom. Ten people attended the meeting, including our patron Dr Richard Pembrey AM and our counsellor Ms Laura Bardell.
The meeting opened at 7.40 pm. The minutes from the 2023 AGM were presented and accepted. Claude Damiani presented the 2024 President’s report, Jenny Lees presented the 2024 Treasurer’s report and annual accounts, which were all accepted. These documents form the 2024 Annual Report, which is now available from our website.
During the election of office bearers, Claude Damiani was re-elected as President, Nick Tinling as Vice President, and Jenny Lees as Treasurer. For the second year running, there were no nominations for the position of Secretary and the position remains vacant. Shauna Adams, Richard Laugesen, Ron Lees and Jaqui Yates-Buttriss were appointed as general committee members. Len Minty was unable to attend the AGM but remains a committee member.
After the election of office bearers, a motion was put that the proposed amendments to the HFACT Rules of Association (as set out in the document ‘2024 Changes to HFACT Rules of Association’ and circulated prior to the meeting) be accepted. The motion was carried. The updated Rules of Association are available from our website.
In other business, Dr Richard Pembrey announced his retirement as patron of HFACT. Richard has been patron of HFACT since 2012 and has been involved with bleeding disorders for more than 60 years. The committee expressed their gratitude for his service and wished him well for the future.
The meeting was followed by supper and a presentation by Martha Soria on her experiences at the WFH World Congress in Spain.
